On July 28-30, 2008, Seymour Rifkind ran 135 continuous miles over 56 hours and 29 minutes in Death Valley, the most desolate & unforgiving place on earth.
Every day children in the Chicago area are living their life in hell. Homeless children have no place to sleep and don’t have the means for a decent meal. These are inalienable rights that every child should have. Seymour will be raising funds for two local charities.
Lake County Pads, provides Overnight Shelter, Food, and Hospitality for
Individuals and for Families with Children Experiencing Homelessness.
Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, a professional organization
whose mission is to prevent and treat child abuse.
Badwater to Mt. Whitney
A solo run in Death Valley is considered the most demanding and toughest foot race in the world. The run begins in Badwater with an elevation of –282 feet and ends 135 miles later in Mt. Whitney, CA at an elevation of 8300 feet. Many people consider Death Valley hell on earth, but it’s nothing compared to the pain and suffering so many of our children go through on a daily basis.
